Hydrographic Surveying

DIMCO has been using GPS and DGPS for single beam and multibeam hydrographic surveying since 1992.  This equipment has been used on contracts for the Vicksburg, Mobile, Galveston, New Orleans, New York, Pittsburgh, Savannah, Portland, and Jacksonville Districts of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Lower Mississippi River Valley Division, Waterways Experiment Station, and many private companies.

We have provided these services for pre- and post-dredging analysis, fish habitat studies, ADCP discharge studies, water quality studies, sub-bottom profiling, gaming facility coffer dam construction, hydroelectric power plant studies, overbank surveys, levee profiles, bank failure condition surveys, revetment surveys, and dike surveys. We have completed over 800 DGPS Hydrographic Surveys of bays, harbors, rivers, and streams.

DIMCO has 8 surveying vessels ranging in length from 14 to 30 feet.  We own a total of 6 complete Hydrographic Surveying Systems including Trimble RTK systems.  DIMCO is able to set-up large offshore vessels for surveying if required.  We also provide "in-house" fabrication facilities to customize vessels and mounts for our clients (please see mount fabrication and platform leasing).
